Theophile - from the Latin for God and Love.
Thus, Theophile means People who love God, and God Who loves people.
It works both ways! And is the theme of the work of Theophile Church in Christ for and by Haitians.

In 1980 Rev. Roland Joseph started Haitian Ministry Theophile Church in Christ. This congregation, which meets in a beautiful facility at 930 Custer SE in Atlanta, now has about 500 in regular attendance, and 10 associate pastors.

In 1994 Pastor Roland expanded Theophile into a church umbrella organization for other Haitian congregations throughout the USA, congregations of like faith, mind and purpose. For, Theophile is a missionary organization. They have 9 affiliated churches in Haiti and support some schools there also.

As of this time there are 4 churches in Florida affiliated with Theophile, including Bradenton, Miami, Tampa and Orlando. But, in addition to the congregation in Atlanta, there are also congregations in Brooklyn, Stanford, Nashville and New York City.

Theophile is growing, and helping other Haitians to catch the vision as missionaries. Instead of waiting for someone to help them, these Haitian Christians are helping themselves, and their brothers and sisters in Haiti.

More information about Theophile will be added as we get it, and we will also be posting files in Creole and French as they are made available. We also hope to have a message board where Theophile members and friends can encourage and inform one another. And, as each congregation provides more information about themselves, they will have their own pages so that others can learn about their work.

1. Haitian Ministry is an interdenominational organization.
2. We believe that all who are saved by Christ are brothers.
3. Love is the essence that activates this organization.
4. We believe that the members must meet responsibilities toward the organization.
5. This organization functions on the payment of tithes by the members according to their incomes.
6. Character signs:
* Fidelity toward God
* Good Will of the Members
* Honesty of the Leaders
7. Goals:
* Evangelizing Haitians
* Uniting Haitians
8. Mutual togetherness is highly honorable.
9. Christian democracy is the government of this organization.
10. Voluntary services are greatly appreciated.
